A Florida teacher whose husband sued a hospital after medical staff refused to treat her with ivermectin as she fought COVID has died, according to reports.
Tamara Drock, 47, a kindergarten teacher for 16 years, died on Friday, her husband Ryan told WPTV.
He had previously filed a lawsuit that alleged medical staff working at the Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center had refused to treat her with ivermectin as he requested.
He pushed hospital staff to use the anti-parasitic medicine after Tamara was admitted to the intensive care unit back in August and was treated with steroids, antibodies and antiviral medication Remdesivir, all as part of the hospital's COVID protocols.
But, Tamara's condition began to worsen in September, which led medical staff to sedate her and place her on a ventilator.

A copy of the lawsuit, seen by WPTV, said Tamara's condition "significantly worsened" when she was admitted to the intensive care unit and that staff refused to give her ivermectin.
The lawsuit, filed in October, claimed staff refused "despite the minimal downside and side effects" of ivermectin. Ivermectin hasn't been authorized for use on people for the treatment or prevention of COVID.
Ryan originally filed the lawsuit in a bid to have staff treat Tamara with the medication, according to WPTV.
The network added that Ryan offered to sign a waiver that would release the hospital from any liability for treating his wife with ivermectin.
"My wife is on death's doorstep, she has no other options," Ryan wrote in his attestation form that accompanied the lawsuit, according to the network.
Palm Beach County Circuit Judge James Nutt ruled that Ryan had no constitutional right "to demand particular treatment," WPTV reported.
Appeal and GoFundMe Page
Jake Huxtable, the attorney representing Ryan, told the network he filed an appeal to challenge the ruling.
A GoFundMe page, which was set up in October, has raised $10,000 out of a target amount of $150,000.
Tamara is also survived by her two children, Emily, 14, and Parker, 12.
Newsweek contacted Ryan Drock and Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center for comment.
A similar case happened in Ohio earlier this year where Jeffrey Smith, 51, of Fairfield Township, died on September 25 after being treated for COVID in an intensive care unit.
His wife, Julie, filed a lawsuit against West Chester Hospital in Butler County for refusing to treat Jeffrey with ivermectin.
Newsweek previously reported that Smith had been given a prescription for the drug from Dr. Fred Wagshul, an Ohio physician who founded a controversial group that supports Ivermectin for COVID treatment.
