The video then shows the bride sitting down in a chair by herself for several seconds. The TikTok user explains in the caption that the groom "had to isolate himself" after testing positive for COVID. Intans_makeup wrote that because the groom was forced to isolate as everything was being prepared for the wedding, "the bride and groom and their families decided that the event would continue" without him at the venue. The TikTok user explained that the ceremony was possible because "in this increasingly sophisticated era, you can do it with the concept of a virtual wedding." At the time of writing, the TikTok video had more than 300,000 likes on the platform, while over 5,000 people had commented on it. Indonesia has recently seen a spike in new COVID cases, with the country reporting at least 35,764 on Thursday, and a seven day average of 33,875. The country has also seen a dramatic increase in deaths, with Indonesia reporting 1,739 fatalities from COVID on Thursday, with a seven day average of 1,689. City Council Speaker Corey Johnson announced the scheme, named "Project Cupid," during the first wave of the pandemic last year, explaining in a statement that: "We deserve some good news and this is definitely wonderful news for all of New York City." Johnson added: "Coronavirus has changed the world in so many ways but our ability to love and commit to each other hasn't wavered. Now couples ready to marry don't have to wait for the pandemic to end to say 'I do.'" Attempting to get married during the pandemic hasn't been easy for many couples however, as limits were placed on the amount of guests allowed in many areas across the world. Other couples have also faced the uncertainty of guests and staff members having different views about the pandemic than they do, with the introduction of vaccines in several countries near the end of 2020 causing new problems. In late July, a California couple planning a summer wedding asked all their guests to show proof that they have been vaccinated against COVID so they could attend. The Seattle-based couple, Keri Barnett-Howell and Will Grosswendt, told NBC affiliate KING5 that all the guests have so far complied with the request to share their vaccination cards, although some of the companies and professionals have not. They even had to change the photographer they planned to use after they refused to share proof of vaccination with the couple prior to the wedding.
