The chilling moment a man followed two women to their hotel room has gone viral online, and the woman who filmed the incident has told Newsweek of the creepy events leading up to it.
With over 8 million views on TikTok, Vanessa Papa, 33, shared the moment she and her friend found themselves in a hotel room, at a hotel they didn't want to name, while a man they believe followed them knocked on their door at 4 a.m.
In the video, the women are visibly alarmed. "No, we're not answering that door," one woman says, urging her friend to lock the door. Shocked and frozen, they question how the man managed to locate their room. "The front desk? That has to be illegal," they speculate. The tension builds as the knocking continues, with one woman whispering, "I've never felt less safe in my life." Another adds, "I didn't want to die tonight."
The women were staying in Florida for Miami Art Week, and earlier in the evening, the two had visited a dive bar near their hotel.

The man who later appeared at their door had purchased drinks for them and even made a pizza in the bar's kitchen, claiming he worked at the attached hotel. While the man initially seemed friendly and nonthreatening, his repeated trips between the bar and hotel raised suspicions.
"He kept stepping away to the hotel, and my friend and I started thinking he might have been actively working a shift that night," Papa said. Feeling uneasy, the women left the bar discreetly once their tab was paid.
It wasn't until later that night when the friends were unwinding in their room that the knock on the door startled them.
Initially assuming it might be hotel staff, the women were stunned to see the man from the bar through the peephole. "We were definitely both frozen in that moment," Papa said.
Fearing for their safety, the women didn't answer the door, instead waiting silently while the man knocked for around five minutes before leaving.
"We didn't feel safe contacting the front desk," Papa said, thinking about the man's connections with the hotel.
As the video gained attention on TikTok, people in the comments reached out with their reactions.
"Why are men like this?!" one commenter wrote. While another said: "Always lock the door."
"I would immediately call the front desk and tell them I would sue the hotel for lack of security and call the cops," a user named Eduardo commented.
