A woman's reaction to the person in front of her during her flight has sparked a discussion among TikTok users.
Kamila Melendez shared a video of her frustration during a recent flight when the individual in front of her decided to put their seat back, leaving her with less room for her journey.
In the video, which received more than 3.4 million views since it was first posted on TikTok on December 29, 2024, Melendez can be seen visibly annoyed as she shows how little room she has during the journey.

She sparked a debate in the comments section of a viral TikTok post. @kamilamelendezz/TikTokShe wrote in the text overlay of the video: "Am I the only one who gets really annoyed when people recline their seats all the way back on planes? Like, sir, please. I'm trying to eat."
In the caption of the clip, she said: "I know I can't be the only one."
Many people are highly opposed to others reclining their seats on airplane journeys. A survey by La-Z-Boy, the company that invented reclining chairs, revealed in a 2024 study of among 2,051 U.S. adults ages 18 and older that 41 percent of American adults say they support a ban on passengers reclining their seats on domestic flights, per a new Harris poll.
The survey was conducted online in October of last year. A number of airlines have actually removed recliner seats from their lanes in recent years.
TikTok users took to the comments section of Melendez's video to share their thoughts on the issue.
Matt shared: "I was on a long haul flight once from London to Sydney and a bloke reclined his seat, which meant the top of his seat hit a wine glass the passenger behind him had on her tray table, and knocked her red wine all over her. Seats just shouldn't be able to recline."
However, Poot commented: "I'm convinced people who complain about this have never been on a long haul flight."
"We were served coffee straight after a meal and a woman in front of my son reclined her chair and it knocked against his coffee cup tipping scalding coffee on to his legs," said Crew.
"I paid for the seat, I'm reclining," Trestnd commented.
Another user, @e.kelly28, wrote: "I recline if it's over 2 hours, I did not pay hundreds of dollars to sit uncomfortably the entire time."
Sharing their experience, NavyBlue said: "When I went to Paris, the dude in front of me was reclined all the way back and then the guy behind me had his tray down sleeping on it so I couldn't move. It was super uncomfortable."
