An EasyJet pilot decided to make things lighthearted when taking off for one of the world's most difficult airports, leaving passengers amused as he said that he will fly the plane "like we stole it."
TikTok user @desari_vix recorded the announcement as her flight to the island of Madeira, Portugal, prepared to take off from London Gatwick Airport. "Madeira is in the midst of quite a windy day," the pilot can be heard saying.
"There are only about 20 of us at Gatwick for EasyJet that are trained to fly to Madeira because when it's a bad day it can be a difficult day out for us. Half of them have had to divert to places like the Canaries and the Portuguese mainland.

The TikTok user can be seen recording her reaction to the announcement. She wrote in the caption of the video: "Madeira is in fact one of the most dangerous airports on the planet. He nailed it though. The banter was first class."
"We'll fly the airplane like we stole it," the announcement continued. "We'll get you there as quickly as we can. If we don't get into Madeira, please understand that I've tried my best. I want you to be aware that that is a possibility now."
He then jokes that if the flight doesn't go as planned, that passengers can blame him because he is already married and "everything's my fault", causing an eruption of laughter on the plane.
At the end of the clip, the plane lands successfully at Madeira and passengers clap loudly for the pilot.

Madeira is a Portuguese island located in the North Atlantic Ocean, north of the Spanish Canary Islands and west of Morocco in Africa.
Madeira's Airport is among the Category C airports in Europe, as defined by the European Union Aviation Safety Authority. These airports require special training for pilots as they are more difficult to land in.
Planes have to land on an elevated strip and pilots have to nail the landing to get it exactly right.
People took to the comments section of the TikTok user's video to share their thoughts and reactions.
