A video showing the aftermath of a failed flight booking has gone viral on TikTok, as two friends are faced with an embarrassing error and end up having to travel separately.

A message overlaid on the clip reads: "The booking went so wrong, we're now actually on 2 different flights."
The footage portrays the outcome of the ticketing issue, as a woman waves goodbye in an airport corridor. The scenario then moves to the view from inside a plane. Through a window, an aircraft can be seen taking off in the distance, as a hand waves it off.
The video later shows a shot of a video call screen between two women, who are later seen greeting each other in what appears to be their destination airport, as the clip ends.
A caption shared with the post simply reads: "Dumb and Dumber going on a trip," referencing the Dumb and Dumber film series starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels.

Although the booking issue is not revealed, the implication is that someone has messed up the ticketing. One explanation is that the booker mistakenly reserved just one seat for the traveling duo on the flight and could not buy another when the error was realized because the flight had sold out. The second traveler was then forced to go on a separate flight.
This kind of issue is harder to solve as air travel continues to see strong growth in the post-pandemic era, with flights potentially selling out faster.
